Robert Randolph & The Family Band - Unclassified

Hands down, this is the best gospel album that I have heard this year. Through some trick of nature, Robert Randolph has figured out how to play a pedal steel guitar in a boogie blues band which never slides towards the instrument's country western origin. The band is tight, and the songs tend to barrel through to the end at a breakneck pace. But Robert Randolph is the star and he shines brightly throughout the album playing guitar and singing on most of the tracks.
After watching this group at the Grammys this year, I sought them out and this album is the very first album that I have bought/burned from Rhapsody in it's entirety.
