One of the few web sites that bring out the newshound geek in me is
Columbia University's Newsblaster. They don't write any news. The web site doesn't report anything. It's sole function is to combine news from the different online news sources, pick the stories that are similar and create a summary of the news story. No fringe reporting, just macro reporting.
